Playful Summer Curls

Hey there muffins,
Long time no see , but happily I have something new for you this time - a hair tutorial.
It's summer so I want my hair out of my face but I don't want to keep it up all the time because there is a moment when my head starts to hurt :D My salvation to the problem is this easy curly hairstyle that I like to do every now and then to spice things up.

So this is my natural hair - straight, fine and it's colored. I have just washed it with my shampoo for colored hair, have sprayed leave in conditioner and have put hair serum on my ends.

So the first thing I do is spray some heat protector to my hair. The curling iron that I'll be using is my favorite for shorter hair because it's very thin an the curls look good.

I like to section my hair in 2 and I clip the top section up.  Then I take small sections, starting from the back and i curl away from my face. I'm way to lazy too alternate directions. TIP: for more structured curls alternate the direction of the curls - away from the face - towards the face- and like that all the way.
When I'm done with the bottom part I curl the rest of the hair the same way.
I wait for the curls to cool down and after that I spray volumizing spray in my curls to make them more messy, because I don't like the look of polished and perfect looking curls. That's why I normally do this hairstyle on second or third day hair - the more messy the better for me.
You can spray some hairspray on but I'm not a fan of it so I won't.

So this is the finish hairstyle. It's really easy and fast and it looks cute.

The products I used:
Shampoo & Conditioner - Black for colored hair
Heat protecting Shine Spray - Rubelia
Hair Repair Serum - Victoria Beauti
Leave-in Conditioner - Schwartskopf Gliss
Curling iron - 16mm Rowenta Ellie

This is one of my favorite ways to do my hair, not only in the summer. I hope you enjoyed it and that you find this post helpful. See you soon muffins.

Flamingo Nails for Summer

Hey there muffins :)

For today I have another fun and bright summer nail art that is super easy and sweet. I gor inspired to do this Flamingo manicure from the 2 new nail polishes that I bought a couple a days ago - the bright neon green and the peachy. This nail art is perfect for the beach or just any summer party - I guarantee you tha your friends will be amused by them ;)
You will need:

  • Base coat - Perfect
  • Neon green polish - Maybelline Colorama Bleached neon 244
  • Pink polish - Golden Rose 50
  • Peanch polish - Maybelline Colorama 310
  • Black and White stripers - Perfect
  • Dotting tool
  • Top coat - Golden Rose Quick Dry
  • Fast Dry Spray - Avon

So lets get started:
1.Shape you nails and apply 2 coats of your base and let that dry.
2. Apply 2 coats of the Neon green polish to all of your nails. If your polish is not vibrant enough applying white polish underneath it will help.
3. Now we'll start creating the flamingo, it's super easy. I'm doing the birds only on my ring finger and thumb but you can do them on all fingers if you want to. First make a half circle at the tip of your nail using the pink polish. After that make a candy cane-like pink line - this is the neck and head of the flamingo. Make the end of the line thicker.
4. Take the peach polish and make a small half circle in the pink body of the bird.
5.Take the white striper and make big white dot dor the eye and smaller white dot an the end of the head. After that with the black striper make a smaller dot in the white for the eye and draw the peak. Wait for the design to dry for as long as possible to prevent smudging.
6. Finally apply a generous amount of your top coat and spray with Fast Dry Spray if necessary.
YOU ARE DONE :)
As you see this nail art is super easy and fun. I hope you like it. Don't forget if you recreate it to let me know by posting the picture at Instagram with the #alekssnails. You can find me on instagram at http://instagram.com/aleks_stancheva

See you soon muffins :))

Fresh Summer Nails - Palm trees and Watermelon

Hey there muffins :p

So for today I have a nail tutorial. It's really fresh, bright, fun and summery :) This is one of my fav ways to spice up my nails for the hot season. So without more talking here it is .... the Palm Watermelon Nail Art
Despite the fact that the designs look complicated they are really easy to be done. So if you want to know how to give yourself a nice bright manicure here are the things you'll need:

  • Base coat - Perfect
  • Bright blue nailpolish - Rimmel 842 Too cool to tango
  • Yellow nailpolish - Golden Rose Fantastic color 01
  • Red nailpolish - Golden Rose Rich color 61
  • Pink nailpolish - Golden Rose Rich color 50
  • Green nailpolish - Golden Rose Rich color 36
  • Black striper - Golden Rose
  • Makeup sponge
  • Thin striper brush
  • Top coat - Golden Rose Quick Dry Top coat
  • Quick dry nail spray (optional) - Avon

So let's get started ... Shall we :)

1. Start with clean nails, use nail file to shape your nails if necessary. Apply your base coat and let it dry. My trick: if you want to prevent the nail polish from chipping at the beginning of the nail apply the first layer of base coat on the bottom part of your nail, after that apply the second coat on the entire nail.
2. Apply two coats of the yellow polish on the ring finger and the thumb. To all of the rest nails apply two coats of the blue polish. Let them dry for a few minutes.

3. Take your makeup sponge and place a stripe of red and yellow polish next to each other and blend the lines to make a nice transition. Using the sponge, with the red polish on the tip of your finger apply using tapping motion. Do so until you like the result.
4. When you are happy with the look take a black striper and draw some palm trees. It's really simple just look at the picture. Once you're done with the palms let the design dry for as long as possible before applying the top coat to prevent  from smudging.
5. Take the black striper again and draw small triangles on the blue nails, like it's shown on the picture - these are going to be our watermelon slices.
6. Take a clean striper or toothpick if you don't have striper. Dip it in the pink polish and carefully fill in the little watermelon triangle. After that do the same using the green polish and fill in the little rectangle. You can use dotting tool or toothpick again to make little dots inside the triangle to make the seeds if you want to. Let the design dry for as long as possible.
7. Finally apply top coat very carefully on all of the nails. Use fast drying one or use a drying spray. I'm using both for even faster effect.

So this is how tou can achieve this incredibly fun manicure for the summer months. Don't forget to share with your friends if you like it. And if you recreate this nailart I'd love to see it, so you can Instagram it with #alekssnails so I can see them.

How to: Ombre Dreamcatcher

He there my lovelies,

Spring is coming so it's time to bring out the bright colors and the crazy patterns and enjoy the warm weather. Today I have for you a colorful and really easy nail tutorial. I love green, blue and minty colors so I did an ombre look with these colors. For an accent I chose a simple dreamcatcher design because I love dreamcatchers and i like how the look with the background colors.

The nail polishes I used for this look are :
   *Picture 1 - Moda Matte Mint №306; Maybelline Colorama 120 Urban Turquoise;
*Picture 2 - Colden Rose Red №23 ; Flormar Navy Blue №398; the two little jars are full of little beads which I decided not to use.
*Things I forgot to make picture of: nail art brush; makeup sponge

First apply a base coat. I recently bought this Regenerating base by Perfect. In the bottle it looks like it has a color but it doesn't as you can see on the second picture. If the nail polish you're using won't stain your nails you can skip this step ( most light colors don't stain the nails) but I recommend using base everytime because it makes your nails harder and the nail polish stay longer.

On this picture I'm only with the mint nail polish that I'm using for a base color. It dries matte but that doesn't bothers we because I'll be using a top coat. I love this color for the spring and summer.

The most important part is the ombre look. To achieve that you'll need a makeup sponge. To do it easier for both of us I wrote the instructions on the picture. It's just that simple!

To create the look just dab the sponge on your nails and you're done. Once you do that the surface of your nails will be rough but the top coat will smooth it. Now just draw the dreamcatcher on your ring finger (or any finger you'd like). I kind of mess up the design with this dots but ... I still like it. here you can add color to your drawing by making small dots but my didn't turn out very good ...

To finish everything apply a top coat - mine is from Golden Rose. I hate waiting for the nail polish to dry so I spray my nails with my favourite Liquid freeze nail dry spray by Avon. It is quite oily so it makes my hands soft and smooth.

This is what the finished manicure looks like. I realy like the combination of the ombre and the dreamcatcher, even though I mess it up. I hope you enjoy it!
